Main objectives:To promote the formation of civil democratic society free from gender domination and submission, from racism and violence: - through the support of women's initiatives in education, culture and economy; - through its own educational initiatives and projects (open seminars for women; Women's Weeks...); - through information projects (publications in newspapers about the situation of women; search in archives, information about and displays of historical documents, library of Woman's Light Club;Association includes several groups. Woman's Light Club is the leading one.It gives lectures, organizes round tables and seminars on history, theory and practice of feminism, specifically: Politics: Women's Business; Community organizations and the government: how they interact in the US; Women against violence;Women's sociocultural projects and the possibility for their implementation in Tver. Legal education is a major focus. Legal consultations for women are held. Seminars for intellectuals from rural areas are planned.Other members of the association are the Information Center, the LINNA Health Center and others (). The Association supported the initiative by Kato Dolidze, a film director, to hold a White Shawl action against violence and war on September 25 1994 in Tver and in the US, and again in January 13 - 39 participants. The action was shown on TV.Letters of protest against the war in Chechnya to the Duma deputies (Rastorguyev).Library on the history of feminism, gender issues etc. Now the library is stored in several private apartments, for lack of space. .Charity for retired people. MIR (Peace), Women's Charitable Center with the Peace Foundation.Creating jobs for women, in collaboration with the Employment Center.Club. Psychological counseling.Union of Tver Women, Rossiyanka Trade Union.SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL WORK: - Blago Foundation (material aid to the elderly, sponsored by ANTEC Company. - Society of Parents of Disabled Children - Luybutka Community - Board of War and Labor Veterans of the 4th district. Charity, collection of second-hand clothes for institutions for the elderly, and for orphanages. Rehabilitation Center for children. - crisis relief. Concerts, Veterans' Choir. - Union of Retired People (legal assistance; for example, assistance in a suit to receive a pension for the diseased son); - Union of Retired People of the 4th district (mutual help, choir, etc.). Works in collaboration with the Union of Veterans, on their premises; - Hertzen Library. Club. Tver-Buffalo Society; Strelets Youth Club;Russian Language Club; Sakhaji Yoga, Yabloko Youth Club, Zabota Club for Retired people (in collaboration with the city Department of Social Protection);"Woman's Light", "Fair Club", Roerich Society, Grezy Art Group, Health Lecture Club. Tverskaya Gornitsa - place for holding concerts, literary evenings etc. - Activities in rural areas: Pogoreloye Gorodishche - museum, club, art school. Village of Borki - art gallery.
