Formed by a voluntary association of women's councils and other public organizations (unions, associations, clubs etc.) with the goal of protecting women's interests, improving their status in society, increasing the role they play in public life, politics, economy and culture of the country.Main objectives: equal rights for women, elimination of all forms of discrimination, involvement of women in administration, charity work. URW is a member of the International Democratic Federation of Women and of the International Union of Organizations Helping Families, has a consultative status with the UN and its agencies such as UNESCO, UNICEF, ILO and others, is an associate member of UN institutions.Maintains contacts with 350 women's organizations in 120 countries. |
